The Location

Kommos is a dreamy, endless beach at the edge of the Gulf of Messara, which is located 66 km from the city of Heraklion and just 2 km from the famous Matala, in southern Crete. This beautiful natural landscape becomes dreamlike in the evening hours when the sun sets on the side of the sea, giving exquisite colours to the atmosphere.

Archaeological finds such as ceramics and sculptures have shown connections of Kommos with Sardinia, Southern Italy, Egypt, Cyprus and the Levant. A Phoenician sanctuary from around 800 BC is of particular interest, being one of only two of its kind in the Aegean.

We are inspired by this idyllic enviroment, and lovingly create our jewellery.
